Memorial Day Weekend events in Newton:
• Sunday, May 26, meet at Forte Park, 235 California St., at 9:00 a.m. and proceed to hang flags in honor of the soldier memorialized on each bridge over the Mass Pike.

• Later Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. the Newton Memorial Day Parade begins at Newton North High School, 457 Walnut St., crosses over the Mass Pike onto Watertown Street and ends at Coletti-Magni Park in Nonantum near the corner of Adams Street.

• Monday, May 27, the Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Newton Cemetery.
